Visionary Moments with Pastor Crenshaw- Do You Have a Made up Mind?

There is a difference between your calling and your purpose. We are called by God to an area of ministry for a specific purpose. The more we mature in Christ the more it becomes difficult to find spiritual satisfaction until we are operating in our purpose.

When we were new in Christ, our goal was to walk in favor. As we began to grow in Christ, our goal was to walk in destiny. But when we matured in Christ, our goal became to walk in purpose. Walking in favor is about me, walking in destiny is about us, but walking in purpose is about God.

When we walked in favor we asked God, to open doors and create lanes of possibilities for service. We asked God to give us favorable relationships with both He and humanity that we might accomplish that which God had called us to do.

When we walked in destiny, we were seeking to walk in that place where God uses us, while He blesses us. God develops us into a vessel, but the explicit agreement is, if we are walking in destiny, we are going to that place of spiritual fulfillment and personal satisfaction.

But when we are operating in purpose, we have matured to the place where we understand; we may only receive spiritual satisfaction from our assignment. Purpose is not the place for the spiritually immature or the spiritually simple. This is the place for those who recognize they have already been blessed and understand that God has blessed them, to be a blessing.

In purpose we are clear, if it is not Gods' will that I personally receive something out of it; that's okay, just being used by God and fulfilling the purpose for which I was created, is enough!"

Elijah is a brother who is operating in purpose. He walked in favor when he was blessed by the brook. He walked in destiny when he changed the life of the Sidonian widow and resurrected her son, but each of these circumstances blessed Elijah. Elijah was blessed by the brook and he was blessed eating the meal. But now that God has called him to operate in his purpose, while there is no tangible blessing for him, there is a spiritual blessing. Brother Elijah has been called to represent the true and living God.

Many are praying for elevation to higher dimensions in Christ. We must all be mindful however; the ultimate level is where we walk in purpose. The level where we pray and honestly expect for Gods' will to be done.

Elijah went before the people and said, "How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal is God, follow him."
I Kings 18: 21
