Its Been Along Time...

Greeting everyone,
I pray this daily devotion reaches all of you in great health and spirit.
To quote the lyrics of one of my favorite rap songs of all time: It’s been a long time, I shouldn’t have left you….

I cant remember chapter and verse, but somewhere in the bible Jesus talks about a useless tree that bares no fruit to paint a picture of us when we don’t use the gifts and talents we are given by God, there are taken away.

I started this blog to share my testimonies and inspire others. I pray everyday for God to bless me to be a blessing to someone else. But sometimes when you are going through a storm its hard to inspire and uplift others. But that’s the time we need to be more obedient because we never know who God may be trying to reach through our testimonies. Who else is going through a hard time and may be inspired through what I am going through and realize they are not alone.

I let myself get so caught up in my problems I stopped using my gift of writing and expressing myself to inspire others and soon found myself finding it hard to write at all. I could finish assignments I started, could finish the books I started. Sure I still testified to those I spoke to on the phone and in person, but those God wanted to reach through me that I didn’t know somewhere far away thru my blog I had forgotten about.

So here I am again asking God to forgive me for dropping the ball and asking those who have come to my blog for inspiration to forgive me. I will do better. God gives us these gifts and talents not for our own benefit but for the upliftment of his people, to do His work.

I told my wife and I do believe that what she and I are goin through is bigger than us. It is so we can give a strong testimony to the young Christian couple in the future, like those couples who have been very inspirational to us with their testimonies. The same is true with what I’m goin through personally. Young brothers in Christ will be affected and inspired by what I am goin through now, when there are being tested.

So with that said, I ask all of you who read this to forgive me and continue to pray for me. I made me truly have respect for my pastors and all the other men and women of God who have to stand before us Sunday after Sunday and feed us with God’s word the food we need to get through another week even though they are personally going through a lot.

What would happen to many at my church if my pastor let his personal problem stand in the way of delivering a word God had for us or if God decided to take a day off. I don’t put myself in the same category as those anointed men and women of God or with God himself but I do have to play my part. I now thank God for the trial and tribulations and the lessons and blessings that follow. Today I pledge to be more obedient. Please check back regularly again and share your thoughts and feedback in the comment sections.
